Economic Development Video Production

If you didn’t already know, EDsuite provides video production services for our economic development clients.  Recently we completed a major project for Longview, Texas Economic Development Corporation.  In a nutshell, EDsuite produced twenty four 90-second “testimonial” videos that are now being released through social media and email distribution at a rate of 2 videos per month.

Engaging Your Local Business Using Twitter

For many economic developers, Twitter is a one way communication tool allowing them to tell the world about their latest achievement - or what they had for lunch that day.  Some communities will use this social networking tool to brag to their followers about their local industry and what’s happening in their community.  Some active Twitters’ go so far as to post positive comments on a very routine basis in a “Today’s Featured Business” style post.  One great example of that can be found in Corinth & Alcorn County, MS or at

Economic Development Maps Maps & More Maps

For years now EDsuite has been providing an “Interactive Map” for all of our new website development projects.  It’s time for a change and that’s exactly what our clients are getting.  Economic development organizations need an effective way to create and publish live Google maps on their website.  We are not only giving them that ability but also the ability to contribute custom illustrated maps, or what I like to call, brochure style maps, and also .png or .jpeg style maps, created by their city GIS Mapping department.

Video Blog - Economic Development Mobile Website

I am calling this my third installment of a series that I didn't know I was writing on economic development mobile websites.  If you want to see EDsuite's answer for not creating an economic development mobile app, then please take a moment to watch this video blog and also read through the previous two posts on this same topic.   We believe that having a mobile website version of your economic development website is a better solution than creating a mobile app and here's why.

Going Mobile Creating a Mobile Website

I suppose appropriately this should be called part two to my earlier blog post “Mobile App vs. Mobile Version?”  Either way here is a new entry that outlines what a real economic development website should look like on a mobile device.

App vs Mobile Version

I was recently asked if EDsuite could build an iPhone Application for a community economic development organization.  I responded by saying, "Yes, what would you like the iPhone Application to do?"  It was clear at that moment, that the intent was to provide critical community information to their target market in a mobile format.  I then suggested creating a "Mobile Version" of the economic development organization's existing website.  The goal was the same, but the method of achieving that goal was drastically different.
